You're thinking fresh, clear water lakes filled with lake trout, bass, pickerel, and even specs. That's right the jewel in the wilderness or should I say, Elliot Lake, Ontario, home of the Atoms. So why Elliot Lake, well first off Elliot Lake is surrounded by some of the cleanest and most accessible fresh water lakes in all of Ontario. You could spend weeks trying out new lakes. Many lakes just outside of town, are surrounded by year-round access cottages and homes that are used for weekend getaways. The beauty about Elliot Lake is that the city, along with its locals, maintain a network of trails and boat launches for ease of access to hundreds of lakes surrounding the city. Lakes can be accessed in a variety of ways including: public boat launches, logging roads, ATV/Snowmobile trails, and portage points between lakes.
