Adjust your riding style with BRP's NEW tMotion Adjustable Limiter Strap | SKI DOO Review
That question always lingers in the back of your mind, "why doesn't my sled perform as well on the trail, as it does in the powder?" and vice versa. Ok so maybe your track is too long or too short, or your ski stance is too narrow or wide, or maybe your suspension just isn't tuned to where you want it. Of course there are many factors that come into play without a doubt.
Well, BRP may have just solved this very problem with their new tMotion Adjustable Limiter strap. Now riders can loosen up their rear suspension to keep the front end of the sled up and out of the powder while boondocking in the backcountry. When they hit up the trail to get back home, they can simply tighten up the tMotion Adjustable Limiter strap to keep the front end down to maintain traction for cornering on the trails.
But is it worth the extra money? Let's take a look.
First of all the tMotion Adjustable Limiter strap has only 2 perks, and we wish we could say that it has infinite amount of perks. The tMotion Limiter only provides adjustment that is equivalent to two adjustment holes on a standard limiter strap. How does it work, real simple, when the selector is placed in the "short" position, that means the strap is shortened/tightened up to keep the front end of the sled down on the ground. When the selector is placed in the "Long" position, well... the strap is loosened off giving more travel in the front of the sled, allowing it to stand up and out of deep snow. We had it installed on our new 2016 SKI DOO Summit SP and it works pretty good however, I will admit that after a long day of Boondocking in deep powder I often forget to adjust the strap back into the "short" position for the trail ride home. Did I sense a change in performance... never really noticed to be honest, but that may be because of the long 146 track and brand new carbides. At the end of the day, some people may notice the change in performance, and others are too focused on the big smiles on their face to even notice anything. The only thing we could recommend, is that it seems to be false advertising to call it a "Adjustable Limiter" when it should of been called more of a "2-way Selector Limiter". It would of been nice to have the ability to fine tune the limiter, and have more "adjustment" available. But BRP is once again a step in the right direction.
